BIG GAME KIT ROOM
This page contains shirts that were worn by or issued to, players for one-off, 'big matches'. Most teams now will commission special shirts if they play in Cup Finals, Testimonials, Special Commemorative matches etc.
These shirts will be distinctive in some way and will usually have at least special sleeve patches and/or the details of the match itself printed or embroidered onto the shirt. This makes the shirts unique, sometimes rare and always desirable to collectors. There are many similar shirts found on other websites, ebay etc which pretend to be of the same quality. However, the truth is that unless you have excellent contacts it is simply not possible to obtain shirts of this calibre. Remember before you buy, check the shirts authenticity, ask the seller the right questions, check them out and very importantly find out as much about the shirt's history and provenance.
It is always amazing to hear requests for match worn big name players shirts from these significant one off games. When you consider a number of players actually collect themselves, maybe keep these shirts for family or friends, then you can appreciate their scarcity. Our Big Game Kit Room displays shirts that have been worn or issued spare shirts for these big matches, but when we say, and we don't want to be disrespectful to any player here, not worn by the big name players or Legends of the game. The shirts are genuinely rare, but are collected for the significance of the game rather than the player who wore it.
